Guidelines To Submit Content To Smemark

Smemark is seeking guest contributors to enhance our relevant content with current, valuable information about topics at the intersection of business and technology, such as web design, digital marketing and content development. All content shared is intended to assist our community of professionals understand how today’s technology benefits business.

Guest Contributor Guidelines

Distinctive Message: Search the site for the topic you're interested in writing about. That way you'll know how to make your piece unique. And please use more than one example of a good company doing good things to illustrate your point.

Actionable and Usable Advice: Don’t write simplistic points such as “Get your company onto social media” and “Be sure to attend industry networking events.”). Give information readers can use.

Trustworthy Resources: Embed links to original sources of information (studies, stats, etc.)

Correct Length: Preferably, we aim for 2,000-3,000 words. Longer blog post lengths provide more relevant information that readers can use and helps bring them back to read more on our site. It's about adding quality content, not increasing the length with filler/fluff material.

Originality: We tend to only accept original copy that is exclusive to Smemark.com. Plagiarism will result in removal from the platform.

No Promotion: Articles are a way to bolster your credibility as a thought leader and expert. They are not a place to promote a company or services.

Proofreading and spell-check the document: Spell check and grammar check before submitting. Articles that are in bad shape will be rejected.

Photos: Don’t put in photos unless you took them yourself or have the right/permission to use them from the entity who holds the copyright.

Lead time: Please expect 2 to 3 weeks before your story gets evaluated.

Include Your Author Bio/Profile

When you establish an author profile with us, please include the following information:

  • Biographical Information: This should be a short and sweet “tweet” type bio of who you are and why you’re important. We like to limit this to 200 characters.
  • Twitter profile. This allows us to tag you online so that you can share your post.
  • LinkedIn profile. This helps readers see your expertise, background, and credentials as well as connect with you.
  • Website & Photo: Your personal website or company name along with role and URL. A 200 x 200 profile photograph.

Editorial Judgment

Smemark reserves the right to edit all content submitted for publication, including grammar, formatting, headlines and length. We reserve the right to reject content for any reason.

We reserve the right to remove any links or content we consider offensive, harmful or overly promotional. Any violation of our policies can result in removal of content or removal from the platform at the editors’ discretion.
